The investigation uncovers a second potential victim, an 87-year-old woman, also trapped during their usual dog walks. “They also met while walking their dogs. », confides a source close to the matter. With the trust of the octogenarian’s family, this so-called friend, already known to the authorities, is employed as a carer, without any official status. But behind this apparent benevolence, the septuagenarian would have taken advantage of her position to unscrupulously draw on the finances of her “protected”, using bank card and checkbook, for an amount exceeding 50,000 euros.
The suspect, summoned and placed in custody by investigators from the Versailles judicial police, faced a careful search in her apartment in Chesnay-Rocquencourt, on the outskirts of the royal city. The police discovered a veritable collection there: jewelry, gold coins, wads of notes, and even banking documents belonging to his second victim. Investigators from the financial brigade did not stop there, seizing his accounts for a total of 84,000 euros.

To counter this mistreatment, vigilance and prevention are essential. Seniors and their loved ones need to stay informed, watch for signs of possible malicious influence, and maintain a strong circle of trust.
