Interviewed on the show Good Morning America, Prince Harry gave an update on the couple he forms with the Duchess of Sussex.
About ten days after visiting his father, King Charles III, who was suffering from cancer, Prince Harry delivered a television interview in the United States. He answered questions from Will Reeve, the presenter of Good Morning America, in a program broadcast on February 16. He thus responded to rumors according to which his relationship with Meghan Markle was “broken”, reported the Daily Mirror.
He praised his wife and also spoke about his life with the Duchess of Sussex and their children in the United States. “My family and my life in California is what it is. I have other trips planned. It would take me across the UK or within the UK, so you know, I’ll stop and see my family as much as I can,” he said.
When the host asked him about how he acted as a father, he responded with humor: “I can’t tell you, it’s classified.” Then, he opened up further on this subject by stating: “The children are doing very well.
Children grow up like all children, very quickly. They both have an incredible sense of humor. They make us laugh and keep us grounded every day. I’m just very grateful to be a dad.”
Statements in response to the media
It was during a trip to Whistler (Canada), as part of an event linked to the Invictus Games, that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle met Will Reeve. The interview with Good Morning America comes days after the Sussexes’ statement to the Daily Mirror, as the outlet reported that their trip to the Invictus Games was “make or break.”
Royal editor-in-chief Hannah Furness also said in The Telegraph that Prince Harry and his wife should not speak out about the royal family during their stay in Canada, if they wanted to maintain hope of reconnecting with the members of the latter.
As a reminder, this February 16, a representative of the Sussexes declared to the Daily Mirror: “We have heard many times that certain opportunities are decisive for the couple. They are still there. They continue to work and pursue what they believe in, despite being constantly challenged and criticized. This couple will not be broken.”
